What is Oxytocin Nasal Spray?

Oxytocin nasal spray is a compounded form of the naturally occurring hormone oxytocin, delivered through the nose for rapid absorption into the brain. It’s used to enhance mood, reduce stress, promote bonding and trust, and support sexual function.

  • Reduced anxiety and stress (effects can begin within minutes)

With regular use, oxytocin gel may:

  • May support emotional resilience and healthy relationships
  • May help reduce symptoms of depression or social withdrawal
  • May improve sexual function in people on SSRIs
  • Could aid in reducing blood pressure and improving wound healing
  • Blood testing is not always necessary but may be recommended
  • Ensure thyroid and cortisol levels are optimized (oxytocin is affected by these)
  • Mild headache
  • Slight nasal burning (usually brief)
  • Nausea or mild cramps (rare)
  • Blood pressure changes (especially if sensitive)
  • In men: long-term use may aggravate prostate enlargement (BPH)
