Pregynyl

Pregnyl(HCG) Injection

What is HCG?

HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone that helps your body keep making its own testosterone. It supports sperm production and helps prevent testicle shrinkage, especially if you're on testosterone therapy. It can also be used after stopping testosterone to help your body start making hormones on its own again. Depending on your needs, HCG may be used along with testosterone or in cycles on its own.

Men taking HCG may notice:

  • Improved testicle size (less shrinkage during testosterone therapy)
  • Better sperm production (important for fertility)
  • Increased natural testosterone (more energy, mood, or libido in some cases)
  • Improved mood or sense of well-being
  • Less testicular discomfort (if shrinkage was causing pain)

Not all men feel a big difference, but HCG mainly supports long-term hormone balance and fertility.

  • Side effects can include acne, increased red blood cell count, or mood changes.
  • Testosterone can convert to DHT (may affect hair, skin) and estradiol (can impact mood, fluid retention).
  • May affect fertility—speak to your provider if you plan to have children.
  • Regular labs are essential: Total T, Free T, Estradiol, CBC, PSA, SHBG, LH/FSH
  • Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in women — a potentially serious condition involving enlarged ovaries and fluid imbalance.
  • Precocious puberty in boys
  • Injection site reactions
  • Possible gynecomastia (breast tissue growth) in males
  • Rare risk of blood clots

HCG is considered relatively safe when used as prescribed, but should still be monitored by a healthcare provider to avoid overuse or misuse.
